Smt. Kandukuri Rajyalakshmi College for women, Rajamahendravaram, one of the biggest and most reputed colleges in the state was established on 2nd September 1968 in the name and memory of Smt. Kandukuri Rajyalakshmamma, The ideal wife of Sri Kandukuri Veeresalingam panthulu Garu.
The college was established with the noble vision & mission of spreading the light of Knowledge to the young woman, by Smt. Addepalli Vivekananda Devi, Founder Secretary and correspondent and Sree Krovvodi Lingaraju, Founder president.
Initially, the college was a private unaided college and got GRANT-IN-AID states from the Andhra Pradesh State government In 1973. Later it was recognized by the UGC & included under the 2(F) & 12(B) list in 1973.
The college now has well-equipped Laboratories and classrooms. Virtual labs, Seminar Halls, Library, Gymnasium, Digital labs, auditorium, hostel, and playground in 12.5 acres of land offering intermediate, Degree (Traditional and Restructured Courses), and PG courses for around 1500 students.
The college was under the control of Hithakarini Samajh, Endorsement department, Government of AP from 1988 Onwards Upto 15th August 2022 and now under the Govt of A.P from 16th August 2022(G.O.MS.No.28).
The college has well-qualified, committed, and experienced faculty to provide value-based and quality education for the girls in and around Godavari District. The college has NCC, NSS (I, II, III units) Youth Red Cross unit, an Inclusive center, a JKC Women empowerment cell, and an Alumni association. They actively participated in social service activities and brought many Laurels to the college.
The Serene Environment and greenery of our college welcome the students to the world of knowledge. Our college is a platform for nurturing young women holistic development to make an effective contribution to society.
